I was recently asked, “At what age did you realize that to be a man is not a day job?”
This is a great question, and one that I think many men grapple with at some point in their lives.
For me, I think I first started to understand this concept when I was in my early twenties. I was working a full-time job, going to school, and trying to figure out my place in the world.
I was starting to feel the pressure to “be a man,” whatever that meant. I felt like I needed to be successful in my career, have a strong social life, and be a good provider for my future family.
But as I got older, I started to realize that being a man is not a day job. E no easy bro!
Being a man is a journey, not a destination. It’s something that you work at every day, and it’s something that you never truly master. But it’s a journey that is well worth taking.
Being a man is not a day job. It’s a challenge, and a privilege. It’s something that I’m grateful for every day regardless.
